Buying an Urban Plant Oasis Variegated Monstera Cutting
As some of you know, I sell a round of variegated Monstera cuttings every year. Here is some general information on my cuttings, when they go for sale, and what to expect when you receive your cutting.
About My Cuttings
Most of my cuttings are bottom-leaf cuttings. This means, the monstera cutting has already at some point produced a new leaf, so as a new owner of the cutting you’ll need to wait for a new shoot to give you your first new leaf. Often times a new shoot will start to push out while it’s still rooting, but sometimes they like to take their time. Just ask me for regular updates when you purchase a listing!
When you do get a new shoot, it will be a white/light green and will push out a tiny first leaf. You’ll have a more full-sized leaf come from your tiny leaf, so be patient! Your new plant is getting established and that tiny leaf is the cornerstone, so love that tiny leaf like your own offspring. Ongoing your new leaves will be very light green, almost white, and as it matures your green coloring will deepen and you’ll be able to see your variegation more clearly.
When You Can Purchase a Cutting
About February each year, I start taking stock of my parent plant and pre-plan out about how many cuttings I can sell. Then, I photograph each leaf and start creating the generic listing. With each new inquiry, I let the buyer review and decide which leaf they’d like to receive.
What To Expect From Me As The Seller

Really though, I try to be as transparent as I can be about your cutting. I am happy to send you weekly photo updates, and even hold your cutting until you feel comfortable shipping it. I’ve even had people ask me to hold the cutting, plant it in soil, and ship it when the first shoot starts producing its first leaf. Generally, once the new roots are about 4-5 inches long, it will easily survive shipping so I try to get it out to you as soon as possible.
Shipping
Shipping is included in my listings. I ship all of my cuttings 2-day flat rate within the United States. For guaranteed health of my cuttings, I do not ship outside of the United States at this time.
